Save Stork Support

We need your help!

We need your help to save our Stork Support service as we are just weeks away from having to stop our service as our funding is running out.

Visit from the Stork CIC has been delivering packages of baby essentials to families across Greater Manchester since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic through our now award-winning project Stork Support.

We deliver nappies, wipes, toiletries and formula milk to their doors via a team of volunteers, as well as sourcing emergency items such as clothes, toys, furniture, utility top-ups and even accommodation.
We have delivered over 2000 parcels across Manchester and Salford thanks to our team of wonderful volunteers and are still delivering around 40-50 parcels a week to families with no signs of demand slowing down.  There are literally hundreds of families who will continue to need our help over the course of the next 6-12 months because of job losses, debts, rising bills and benefits issues as well as those escaping domestic violence or are in the immigration system.

Our Impact

Our clients tell us that the stress and worry over the poverty and situations they are in is ‘overwhelming’ and makes them feel ‘lost’, ‘empty’ and helpless. Often parents come to us when they are in deep crisis, having tried to resolve the issues themselves or have been turned away from statutory services. Our service helps to relieve this crisis by taking them under our wing, delivering the essentials for their children, and helping them to thrive. We also work with the clients 1:1 to improve their incomes, access emergency help and sign post them to other organisations. The families and referral agencies we work with are always so grateful for our help, but we are just weeks away from having to stop delivering due to our emergency funding running out. The funding we’ve applied for could take up to 12 weeks to come through and is not guaranteed.

How you can help

Buy an item from our Stork Store website which sells toys, books, games and parenting equipment or join our Stork Store Facebook group. All profit made from items sold goes straight to our Stork Support project.

Donate items such as nappies and wipes to us so we can continue delivering through donations – please see our Facebook page or the list below  for more info on items we need.

If you do have spare cash, please consider donating to us via Square (our payment processor), our Go Fund Me page or via Paypal. Just £5 pays for nappies, wipes and toiletries for 1 child for a week.

Consider fundraising through an exercise challenge – raising £180 will pay for up to 50 families to receive nappies, wipes and toiletries for a week.

Below is a list of items you can donate to us so we can directly help the families needing our support. If you can donate any of these items please contact Kim on visitfromthestork@gmail.com to arrange drop off at St James House at Salford Precinct or message the Visit from the Stork CIC facebook page.
